with empowering education to support your GOLDEN HOUR & feeding journey

The Lactation Class is a foundational breastfeeding class to empower you to navigate the Golden Hour with successful breastfeeding. This class is designed to equip you with confidence, knowledge and tools supporting lactation in the early days and beyond. Feeding your baby is a journey and we will teach you the evolution of breastfeeding over the first two years. This class is designed to be taken during pregnancy for both parents or includes a support person.

The Lactation Class

  • Self Study Homework, journaling exercises and additional reading material
  • Willa’s Lactation Resource List & Recommendations

Caitlin Bishop MSN, RN, IBCLC

Caitlin is a mother, masters educated Registered Nurse (MSN, RN), and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is passionate about supporting families as they transition into parenthood, growing families, and all feeding journeys. Ella Waite E-RYT, RPYT

Ella is a mother, wellness expert and certified yoga teacher E-RYT 200 and RPYT. Her teachings lead and empower you to move your body and believe in yourself through life, pregnancy and motherhood with the power of yoga. She has three children and knows first hand the lifestyle shift of breastfeeding babies. She has spent seven years of her life feeding babies with her body. When she is not working for Willa Wellness, you can find her on the golf course, cooking in her kitchen or folding mounds of laundry.

In this course, you’ll receive:

  • 50+ page manual with detailed lecture notes, worksheets, resources, homework, images and journal prompts
  • Two, three hour long in-person sessions with optional Zoom call or recording to review
  • A community of other expecting parents to connect with before and after baby comes including a WhatsApp chat and our weekly sessions
  • Small group accountability with our weekly sessions and circle time where you share about your homework

Why take The Lactation Class?

This class is designed to help you and your partner feel confident, prepared, and supported from day one of your baby’s life. Here’s why it’s worth your time:

  • Set Yourself Up for Success in the Golden Hour: That first hour after birth—often called the golden hour—is a critical window for initiating breastfeeding.
  • Build Confidence Before Baby Arrives: Breastfeeding can be natural, but it isn’t always easy. This class arms you with real-life knowledge and strategies before you’re sleep-deprived and overwhelmed.
  • Know What’s Normal (and What’s Not)
Many new parents stop breastfeeding early due to preventable challenges. We’ll cover how milk supply works, latch and positioning tips, what to expect in the first days and weeks, and how to get help when you need it.
  • Get Your Partner Involved: Partners play a powerful role in breastfeeding success. This class helps both of you learn how to support the nursing parent physically, emotionally, and practically.
  • Navigate the First Year With Confidence: We’ll guide you beyond those early days—through growth spurts, pumping, returning to work, introducing solids, and weaning—so you feel prepared for every stage.

kind words
Willa’s Lactation Class introduced me to the beautiful and sometimes complicated world of breastfeeding. As a soon-to-be first time mom, the class helped to give me the confidence and resources needed to start my breastfeeding journey on the right footing immediately post-birth. From learning about different breastfeeding positions to colostrum collection to what to actually do during golden hour post-birth, I felt like I was provided tangible skills that helped to set me up for a successful lactation journey.

“I am so glad I signed up for this on a whim. I didn’t think I would need breastfeeding education prior but I am so glad I had this information when I was postpartum, sleep deprived and happy I wasn’t searching google for information.”

“I really appreciated the energy, real talk and enthusaisum of the teacher Caitlin. She is so knowledgeable and has a lot of experience working as an IBCLC in the NICU. This class is not just about breastfeeding but also prepares you for alternative scenarios without fear mongering. Bravo Caitlin!”
