A guide to a more pleasurable and empowered birth experience

no matter how you give birth

We are told that birth is painful, scary and hard. What if birth could be pleasurable, empowering and full of love? Birth isn’t something that just happens to you, it’s a right of passage that’s shaping your journey into parenthood. Contrary to what some may say, you are not just a passive passenger along for the ride.  To have a birth that feels present and connected, while reducing your risk of birth trauma, you need the tools to stay rooted and connected to your body and baby during birth.   Birth is wildly unpredictable, and knowing your options allows you to navigate the unexpected with grace and confidence. Allowing you to set aside fear and focus on the dream birth you desire. In The Embodied Birth Class you and your birth partner will learn and practice the skills to stay connected to your inner wisdom during birth.  In this class we focus on how you want your birth to feel and how you can navigate the many directions birth may take with confidence, mindfulness and trust.

The Embodied Birth Class

In this childbirth class…

In this class you will learn through lecture, movement, meditation and connection with other expecting parents. Ella and Tara will guide you in preparing your mind, body and spirit for your birth experience. We will offer you somatic practices to connect your body to different stages of labor, teach yoga flows to help prepare your body for labor and create comfort in pregnancy.

  • Connection with other expecting parents (birthing person & support partner)
  • Interactive in person lectures to empower and prepare you on evidence based birth practices
  • A prenatal partner movement & yoga class that gets you moving together and preparing for labor
  • Guided meditations and somatic practices to support birth
  • Homework, self study, journaling exercises and additional reading material
  • Individual support in a small group birth class setting

Ella Waite, E-RYT RPYT

Ella is a mother, wellness expert and certified yoga teacher E-RYT 200 and RPYT. Her teachings lead and empower you to move your body and believe in yourself through life, pregnancy and motherhood with the power of yoga. She is the founder of Willa Wellness a family wellness small business. She has three children and knows first hand how the yoga practice has transformed her life and birth outcomes. She believes we can influence birth but we can’t control it. When she is not on her yoga mat, you can find her cooking in her kitchen or folding mounds of laundry.

Dr. Tara Morrison, DPT

Dr. Tara Morrison is a mother, wife, creatrix, and medicine woman. She is also a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Women’s Health & Intimacy Coach, and creator of Somatic Pelvic Care, her signature mind-body-spirit approach to serving women struggling with pelvic floor challenges so they can feel empowered in their birth experience, feel connected and confident in their bodies postpartum, and reignite intimacy both in and out the bedroom.

She has devoted her 13 year career to exploring “out of the box” solutions to healing physical pain, recognizing that most women’s health conditions and physical challenges have an unseen emotional or energetic root cause. After her own initiation into motherhood, she followed the inner call to start her own business, Inner Rhythm Wellness to support women more fully through this right of passage on a physical, emotional, and energetic level. Since then she has supported hundreds of women in attuning to their Inner Rhythm, becoming a more confident and connected mother, while healing their pelvic floors, and getting back to enjoying sex after baby.

“Taking the Embodied Birth Class with my husband was such a meaningful experience. We enjoyed learning in the small group setting alongside other couples on the same journey into parenthood. Ella and Tara’s approach created a safe and nurturing space where we could explore the physical and emotional aspects of birth together. We feel more connected to each other and to the process of bringing our baby into the world. This class is a unique resource on the Eastside, and we would recommend it to anyone seeking a supportive community.”

“Willa’s Embodied Birth Class was easily the most important and impactful thing I did during my pregnancy. Committing to a multi-week course with my husband helped us to learn about our options and have conversations that helped us to feel prepared for birth and postpartum. I didn’t want to attend a course that would push us in one direction or another regarding birth choices, and I felt like The Embodied Birth Class was very supportive of all different options. I loved meeting different pregnant couples and how everyone had different goals around their birth. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and supportive, and leveraged their own diverse experiences to help class participants best prepare for their births.”

If you are curious about adding pelvic floor physical therapy as part of your birth preparation plans, Dr. Tara has a special birth prep offer for those of you taking this course. We have found in the past that people often wait until the last minute to schedule these sessions and it’s not ideal in terms of truly preparing your pelvic floor and in terms of making sure there is space for you to be seen. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out.

Our location is within Eastside Community School at Pine Lake Hall. The address is 5025 Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd SE Issaquah, WA 98029
